One More Day...

I have not been preparing like I should have for this trip to L.A. so yesterday I hoped on Gay.com and chatted with some people who lived in L.A. to get the skinny on some good places to hit up.

After speaking with them, I thought to my self that maybe I should look for something to do other than just shop and hang out at the beach. Shopping can only take me so far and I will be there for an entire 4 days. I do not want to repeat the experience that I had in Paris, France when I ran out of money and had to spend my last day in France in the L'Orly.

So today I will research some things that I REALLY want to do while I am in the City of Angels and plan accordingly.

I Rest My Case...No Pun Inteded

It turns out that the woman I wrote about yesterday who shot her husband, claims that she did it in self defense. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. You can read more about it in today's Cincinnati Enquirer.

Mary Beth Exeler, sister of murder victim Robert McCafferty, asked Judge Gregory Popovich to set a "reasonable" bond for his wife, Cheryl McCafferty, who has been charged with murder in the case.

Does This Happen To You?

I ate a bit too much at lunch today so my self diagnosed ADD is acting up again. I have been listing to this list of songs that I found on one of my daily reads...Can you guess which is my favorite? 25 cool points to the first reader who can guess it.

Antony & The Johnsons - “The Lake”
Bloc Party - “I Still Remember”

Another Fishy One

Yet again, an affluent family is on the verge of airing thier dirty laundry all over the news. The family living in a quiet cul-de-sac in Ft. Thomas, a Cincinnati suburb in Northern Kentucky, called 911 early ysteuday morning moments after she shot her husband in the head, killing him, while thier two teenage children were in the home as well. You can read more details about theis tragic event here.

I have said it here, and I will say it again, something does not smell right.

My guess that either the husband was abusing the wife, or she finally wised up and figured out that the honeymoon suit that the husdaband had booked in Jamaica was not for her.

Another Lazy Sunday

I can honestly say that I do not remember the last Sunday where I did exactly what I wanted to do and when I wanted to do it. IT was great.

Due to the rainy weather (finally), most of the day was spent indoors. After a bomb egg sandwich (thank you very much) I went to for my final check of my uncle's dog Blade which I was checking in several times over the weekend while him and his family were away at Jellystone Park.

I got home just in time to catch the better end of a mozzarella, basil, tomato and onion garden salad, topped of with a half of twice backed potato.

That meal put me right to sleep, but then I got the urge to see the new film, Ocean's 13 so since I had no other obligations, I hopped in my car and traveled across the Ohio river to Newport On The Levee where I sat down with my cookie and jumbo sized soft drink just before the opening credits.

Magnificent!

The night was not over yet...

After a long run through the University of Cincinnati campus, where the eye candy was out in full force (I have got to learn how to play soccer...lol) I ventured to the new downtown restaurant Boi Na Braza for one of the best meals that I have had in this city.

All in all, I had a great Sunday.

Big Plans For The Weekend?

None for me either.

I am sitting this afternoon, trying to plan my big trip to L.A. next weekend. I have not been to the West Coast in about a decade...way before I was of age and way before I came out so there are many different things that I want to see and do while I am there for four days.

In the midst of my research, I came across these HOT pics of 2007 designer men's swimwear collection. Here are some of my favorites:

There were so many more pics...if interested in checking out what is hot for the summer click here.

Has It Seemed Like A Blur To You 2?

The past few days have been blurr of early nights and laying low. Mostly because of the ruckus of a weekend that I had.

Friday, a few friends and I managed to lurk out tin the early evening and catch (no pun intended) a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. Our home team had not been doing so hot (26 wins and 41 losses) but the team that they were playing were equally as bad if not worse (24 wins and 42 losses) so I thought that we could at least see the former Red Stockings kick some ass.

By the end of the 7th inning, my hopes and dreams were dashed. We did not even stay to see the end of the game. I guess I am not just a fairy, but also a fair weather fan. My friends and I decided to drown our sorrows with a trip to SimonSays followed by a jaunt to the nearby Subway.

Saturday was a bit more enjoyable. Every year I organize our neighborhood's Spring Fling/Information Fair. At this event, our community council partners with the local church's annual block party and invites community organizations to come and set up activity booths for the children of the neighborhood. This was the children can have some fun while learning about all of the free fun stuff they can do for the summer.

I have to say it was a blast, and these pictures prove it!

Pride Is Alive in the Nati

How do Drag Queens do it? (Courtesy of CinWeekly)

The sun was blazing but it was no competition to the fabulously hot members of Cincinnati's GLBT community who dawned their colors and participated in the Queen City's Annual Gay Pride Celebrations which was last Sunday.

Kicking off at Burnett Woods with a rally at 11 am and immediately followed by its participants marching a few miles down the hill and across the highway (via a bridge) to Hoffner Park in neighboring Northside where there was an whole host of performers and booths.

And the band kept marching on (courtesy of CinWeekly)

My roommate and I wanted to Rollerblade in the parade but due to use not getting out of the door until about 1:30pm (we thought that the parade would begin at 1 pm) we decided to just drive to Hoffner Park and greet the participants as they sauteed down the street into the park.

Of course, in true diva style, that are tardiness was in no comparison to that of the parade.

It was so exciting to see so many "family" members in one place. It was sort of like watching Super Friends...so many super heroes in one place, using their different powers together for the fight for freedom. In this case it was the power of seduction.

All throughout the day, I was so distracted that I forgot to take pictures (I know right). I did manage to snap a few pics here.

My roommate makes out with cow-like dog. Yes that is him in drag and on roller blades.

In the back patio of Bronze Bar....I love what they did with the place.

Of course, the worst pic I have taken in several years was taken by a CinWeekly photographer...Man I hope this does not make it into this weeks print version.

My First Attempt

Noe that I have gotten accustomed to snapping pics with my cell, I think I should document some of the hotties that are popping up around town now that the weather is getting warmer.

Today's run, I decided to head to Burnett Woods, just across the street from the University of Cincinnati. I had not idea that today was graduation day, but I was lucky enough not to get caught in traffic.

On my way to the park, I noticed this guy crossing the street while I was stopped at the light. With the sharp mind that I have (yeah right) I snapped a quick pic. It is not all that clear so see his body, but I am sure that I will become better with time.

Well.....now you know

******Warning*******

Pictures on this post may be offencive to some people.

I have to say that with the kick off of Pride month, a half nekkid Tuesday post from about a boy and his briefs and the well placed words of a friend (thanks B) I have decided to place some pics of me after today's run to show how far that I have came in my effort to get back onto shape.

I know that they are not impressive to most of you, but you should have seen what these pics looked like a few months ago. I have trimmed down to a husky 184lbs, but as B would say, I should not worry about the lbs and should just worry about feeling good about yourself, so I will no longer list poundage again....let me know if I slip up.

So here is the beginning of my 6 pack...lol It looks more like a 40oz of Colt 45.

So in the past week, I have moved my efforts from simply working out to include working on my diet as well. I have been trying to only eat proportionate meals and stop eating when I am full. I tell you what, stopping eating has been the hardest thing that I have had to do in this entire wight lost program. I was raised to eat all the food on my plate and to eat any chance that I could. I celebrated my first day of my new diet by eating lunch at a nice Mexican restaurant near my new job and there is what I had:

As you can see, I left half of the meal due to me being full...I guess I am starting out on the right track...lets see how long this will last. I saw the following YouTube vid on one of my favorite blogs and gave me a bit more satisfaction with eating.

Wish me luck!

Kick off to Pride

Not the best time to start a workout regimen...but you know me.

Yesterday was the kick off to Pride season, and Cincinnati was not left behind.

The day started out with my friend and I taking in the Over-the-Rhine Tour of Homes. A great time had by all and it was a great way to to a look at the condo's that are being re-developed in Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

Nothing too gay about that...wink..wink

Then it was of to the races. Another friend joined my roommate and I as several teams joined together to race in drag up and down Court street between Vine and Race. It was hilarious. Not to mention that it finally decided to rain just before this race began, though the downpour did not last long, there is nothing more scary than a wet and angry drag queen.

I took some great shots of the races with my camera phone, but it is acting up again, so if I manage to get them off of my phone and on to this blog, I will let you guys know.

I Finally Have A Goal...

Well, I guess I should not call it a goal, more of something to look forward to. Yestuday I purchased my tickey from Cincinnatit to L.A. for my uncle's wedding. So not that I will be in Los Angelos for a few days over the July 4 weekend, I am going to have make myself presentable....you know....representing Cincinnati and all....wink-wink.

So for the next month, I will be doing my research on Los Angelos, places to see, people to do. Oh wait..reverse that...

Any advice on parts of the city I should see while I am there for a few days?
